Classic Old Fashioned Southern Blueberry Cobbler
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup whole milk, cold
- 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup salted butter, melted
- 2 cups fresh blueberries (you can also use frozen, partially thawed to remove some of the excess liquid)
Preparation
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Whisk together the flour, sugar, and baking powder.
Add the milk and vanilla to the dry ingredients. Whisk the mixture together until it is homogenous and smooth.
Pour the melted butter into an 8×8 baking dish and spread the cake batter on top of the butter.
Sprinkle the blueberries on top of the cake batter and bake the dish for 40-45 minutes, or until golden brown.
Serve immediately with whipped cream or ice cream and enjoy!
Notes
This recipe comes together super-fast, so it is easy to make ahead of time. It can be stored in the fridge for up to three days and can be reheated in either the microwave or the oven.
If you do not have fresh blueberries, you can use frozen ones.
