White Chocolate Magic Layer Cake

Ingredients

  • 150 g white chocolate
  • 6 medium eggs
  • 150 g cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • a pinch of salt
  • powdered sugar, for dusting
  • butter, for greasing the pan

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F)

  2. Grease a 20 cm springform pan with butter and set aside

  3. Chop the white chocolate and melt over a hot water bath; let cool

  4. Separate the eggs

  5. Mix the cream cheese, egg yolks, melted chocolate, and vanilla extract until smooth

  6. Beat the egg whites and salt until stiff peaks form

  7. Gently fold the egg whites into the cheese mixture, leaving a few streaks of egg white

  8. Pour the batter into the prepared pan

  9. Bake for 15 minutes at 180°C (350°F)

  10. Reduce the oven temperature to 150°C (300°F) and bake for another 20 minutes until golden brown

  11. Let the cake cool in the oven with the door slightly ajar

  12. Remove from the pan, dust with powdered sugar, and serve

Notes

  1. Leaving visible streaks of egg white ensures proper layer separation during baking

  2. The cake serves about 10 people
