Crispy Pork Dumplings with Spicy Salsa
Ingredients
- 1-2 teaspoons cooking oil
- dumpling wrappers
Dumpling salsa
- ginger
- garlic
- lots of scallion
- Thai chili
- chili oil
- rice vinegar
- soy sauce
- sesame oil
Pork filling
- ground pork shoulder
- carrots
- celery
- Napa cabbage
- scallion
- ginger
- sesame oil
- low sodium soy sauce
- ground pepper
Preparation
Mix together all the dumpling salsa ingredients in a bowl and set aside.
Combine all the pork filling ingredients in another bowl until well mixed.
Assemble the dumplings by placing a portion of the filling in the center of each wrapper and sealing the edges.
Heat the cooking oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add the dumplings.
Cook the dumplings for 15-30 seconds until they sizzle, then add 4-5 ounces of cold water.
Cover the pan, reduce heat to medium-low, and cook until the water evaporates, about 11-13 minutes.
Serve the dumplings with the spicy salsa.
