Crispy Spicy Broccoli Wings

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chickpea flour
  • 3 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 cup plant based milk
  • 1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs
  • 4 cups broccoli florets

Sauce

  • 3 tbsp tamari
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp sriracha
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C/350 F.

  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the chickpea flour, nutritional yeast, paprika, cumin, and plant based milk.

  3. Dip the broccoli florets in the batter, then the breadcrumbs.

  4. Transfer them to a baking dish, and bake for 25 minutes, until crispy.

  5. Make the sauce by adding the tamari, apple cider vinegar, tomato paste, sriracha and maple syrup to a pan over a medium heat.

  6. Mix together the cornstarch and water, and add to the sauce.

  7. Whisk until the sauce thickens.

  8. Serve the broccoli wings with the sauce.
