Spiced Turmeric Cardamom Buns
Ingredients
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp cardamom
- 25 g fresh yeast
- 100 g butter
- 130 g sugar
- 850 g flour
- 5 dl milk
- 1 egg
Preparation
Add all ingredients except butter to a baking machine and knead on low speed for 10 minutes.
Add cold butter, cut into smaller cubes, while the machine is still mixing and let it mix for another 15 minutes on medium speed.
Leave the dough at room temperature to rise for about 1-2 hours.
Shape into St. Lucia buns or regular buns, place on a baking tray covered with parchment paper and let rise for another 30 minutes.
Bake for 10-12 minutes at 200°C and enjoy.

These buns are inspired by St. Lucia saffron buns and are fluffy with a high rating.
They can be enjoyed any time of the year.
