Baked Apple Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients

Dough

  • 300 ml warm milk
  • 65 g sugar
  • 7 g dry yeast
  • 75 g melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 2 level teaspoons salt
  • 530 g flour

Filling

  • 65 g very soft butter at room temperature
  • 40 g sugar
  • 2 lightly heaped teaspoons cinnamon
  • 5 apples

Preparation

  1. Mix milk, sugar, and yeast in a large mixing bowl.

  2. Stir in butter, egg, salt, and gradually add the flour, kneading into a soft dough.

  3. Cover the dough and let it rise at room temperature for 1 hour.

  4. Meanwhile, slice the apples into thin slices.

  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle on a well-floured surface.

  6. Brush the rolled-out dough with soft butter.

  7. Sift sugar and cinnamon over it and place the apple slices on the dough.

  8. Roll up the dough from the short side and cut into approximately 3 cm wide pieces.

  9. Place the cinnamon rolls next to each other in an oiled pan and let them rest for another 30 minutes.

  10. Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C fan mode until golden brown, about 20 minutes.

  11. Let cool slightly and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
