Chipotle Turkey Burgers with Sweet Potato Buns

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1/4 cup chopped spinach
  • 1/2 tsp chipotle powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 sweet potato

Preparation

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and sauté the onion for 3-4 minutes, then add spinach and sauté for another minute.

  2. Remove the mixture and add it to a bowl with the turkey and spices.

  3. Mix together and form into burgers; this makes about 5 burgers.

  4. Cook the burgers over medium heat for 6-7 minutes on each side in avocado oil, and check internal temperature to ensure it is safe.

  5. For the sweet potato buns: Slice 1 sweet potato into thick rounds, choosing a large and round sweet potato.

  6. Broil the sweet potato slices on the bottom shelf for 10 minutes.
