Mint Infused Indian Lentil Dal

Ingredients

  • 1 cup toor dal
  • Fresh mint, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 green chilies
  • Turmeric powder
  • Salt
  • Ghee
  • Cumin seeds
  • Mustard seeds
  • Curry leaves
  • Dried red chilies

Preparation

  1. Soak 1 cup of toor dal.

  2. Clean and finely chop the mint, then add one teaspoon of oil to a pan and sauté it.

  3. To the washed toor dal, add diced tomato, chopped mint, 2 cups of water, a couple of green chilies, and turmeric.

  4. Cook the toor dal mixture until it is well cooked, mash it, and add salt.

  5. Once the dal is cooked, heat some ghee in a pan, add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, curry leaves, and red chilies.
