Creamy Mandarin Quark Dessert in Glasses
Ingredients
- 100 g heavy cream
- 1/2 packet vanilla sugar
- 250 g low-fat quark
- 3 tablespoons plain yogurt
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 vanilla pod
- 3 fresh mandarins
Preparation
Prepare 4 dessert glasses (150 ml each)
Whip the heavy cream with vanilla sugar until stiff and chill
Stir the low-fat quark with plain yogurt and sugar until smooth
Split the half vanilla pod lengthwise and scrape out the seeds, then add to the quark mixture
Fold the whipped cream into the quark mixture
Peel the mandarins, remove the skin and set aside 8 pieces for decoration
Finely chop the remaining mandarin segments
Spoon 2 tablespoons of quark cream into each glass
Top with 2 tablespoons of chopped mandarins
Add another layer of quark cream
Decorate each glass with 2 mandarin pieces
Chill for 2 hours, then serve
Tips
You can use canned mandarins (175 g) instead of fresh; choose low-sugar varieties or reduce the sugar in the cream to avoid excess sweetness
Add a little lemon juice to the cream for extra fruitiness
