Delicious Schokobons Cupcakes with Mascarpone Frosting

Ingredients

Cake batter

  • 75 g softened butter
  • 120 g sugar
  • 1 egg
  • a pinch of salt
  • 200 g all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 100 ml milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 20 Schokobons, quartered

Frosting and decoration

  • 250 g mascarpone cheese
  • 200 g cream cheese
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 200 g powdered sugar
  • 30 Schokobons
  • some hazelnut crunch

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (convection 160 degrees)

  2. Line the cups of a muffin tin with paper liners

  3. Cream the butter and sugar together

  4. Add the egg and mix well

  5. Add the salt, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and milk to the mixture and stir until combined

  6. Evenly distribute the batter into the prepared liners using an ice cream scoop or two teaspoons

  7. Press the quartered Schokobons into the batter

  8. Bake the cupcakes in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes

  9. Let the hot cupcakes sit for a few minutes

  10. Remove the cupcakes from the pan and cool on a wire rack

  11. Beat the mascarpone, cream cheese, vanilla sugar, and powdered sugar together until smooth for the frosting

  12. Transfer the frosting to a piping bag with a tip of your choice

  13. Pipe the frosting onto the cupcakes

  14. Sprinkle the cupcakes with hazelnut crunch

  15. Place two and a half Schokobons on each cupcake

Tips

  1. Feel free to use other candies instead of Schokobons for different variations
