Spooky Halloween Monster Chocolate Cake for Kids
Ingredients
Cake batter
- 250 g soft butter
- 200 g sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 5 medium eggs
- 270 g all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 3 tbsp milk
- 100 g grated dark chocolate
- butter, for greasing pan
- flour, for dusting pan
Decoration
- 300 g powdered sugar
- 3-4 tbsp water
- 2 tsp green food coloring
- sugar eyes, for garnish
Preparation
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) conventional or 160°C (320°F) fan-forced. Grease and flour a 22 cm Bundt pan.
Beat butter, sugar, and salt until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix flour and baking powder, then alternate adding to the batter with milk. Stir in grated chocolate.
Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack, then unmold the cake.
Place cake on a serving plate. Mix powdered sugar, 3-4 tablespoons water, and green food coloring until smooth. Add more water if needed to achieve a pourable consistency. Pour glaze over the cake, allowing it to drip down to form 'noses'.
Decoration
While the glaze is still wet, place sugar eyes to create the monster's face.
