Homemade Baked Kofta Pie
Ingredients
Dough
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon fine instant yeast
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons dried milk
- 1/4 cup corn oil
- 1 cup warm water
Filling
- 500 grams kofta meat
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon crushed hot pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 chopped green hot pepper
- 1 medium tomato sliced
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 200°C and prepare a 12-inch baking tray or oven dish.
In a mixer bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, dried milk, and yeast. Attach the dough hook and mix for a few seconds. While mixing, add corn oil and warm water until a smooth dough forms.
Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover it, and let it rest in a warm place for about 15 minutes.
In a bowl, mix eggs, salt, crushed hot pepper, chopped green chili pepper, and kofta meat until well combined.
On a floured surface, roll out the dough slightly larger than the baking dish and place it in the dish.
Add the kofta mixture to the dough and fold the edges over the filling attractively.
Spread sliced tomato over the kofta, let the pie rest for about 10 minutes, and brush the edges with egg yolk.
Bake the kofta pie for about 30 minutes until golden brown, then serve.
