Easy Shrimp and Corn Rice

Ingredients

  • 1 onion
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger (you can use ginger powder instead)
  • 3/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 kg shrimp
  • 1 cup corn
  • 1 cup basmati rice (you can use any kind of rice you like)
  • 2 cups water

Preparation

  1. Sauté the onion, garlic, and ginger in a pot until fragrant and softened.

  2. Add the turmeric, salt, and soy sauce, and stir to combine.

  3. Add the shrimp and cook until they begin to turn pink.

  4. Stir in the corn, rice, and water.

  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until the rice is cooked and liquid is absorbed.

Tips

  1. Fresh ginger can be replaced with ginger powder if not available.

  2. Any type of rice can be used instead of basmati rice.
