Better than Takeout Easy Teriyaki Tofu

Ingredients

  • 1 block tofu
  • 2 Tablespoons tamari or coconut aminos
  • 2 Tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon maple syrup or coconut sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable broth
  • 1/4 teaspoon liquid smoke
  • 1/2 inch piece ginger peeled and minced
  • 1 clove garlic peeled and minced
  • 1 teaspoon roasted sesame oil, optional

Preparation

  1. Slice tofu into 1/2 inch thick triangles.

  2. Mix all ingredients except tofu in a small bowl.

  3. Bring a large nonstick pan to high heat and add tofu.

  4. Brown tofu on all sides.

  5. Once browned, add your sauce and coat each piece of tofu with it.

  6. Turn on heat to low and simmer tofu in sauce until it is almost completely reduced.

  7. Serve and enjoy!
