Date Nectar and Ginger Glazed Tofu

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup tamari or soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons date nectar
  • 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • 1 block tofu
  • avocado oil for cooking

Preparation

  1. Whisk together 1/4 cup tamari (or soy sauce), 3 tablespoons date nectar, 3 tablespoons rice vinegar, and 1 tablespoon minced ginger.

  2. Slice a block of tofu.

  3. Cook the sliced tofu in a pan on the stove in a bit of avocado oil until crisp, about 4 minutes on each side.

  4. Add the glaze mixture to the pan with the tofu and let cook on medium heat for about 4 minutes until the sauce thickens.

  5. Serve the tofu as desired and drizzle with the remaining sauce.
