The Best Crispy Cauliflower Wings

Ingredients

  • ✨ 1 large head of cauliflower
  • ✨ 1/2 cup flour (or more)
  • ✨ 1/2 cup + almond milk (or other plant milk)
  • ✨ salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika
  • ✨ (optional) panko breadcrumbs
  • ✨ (vegan) bbq sauce
  • ✨ buffalo sauce

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven 180 C fan forced

  2. Chop cauliflower into large florets

  3. Mix the flour and almond milk to make a batter, add more almond milk if it needs to be runnier or flour to make it thicker (it wants to be thick enough to stay on the cauliflower but runny enough to dip in)

  4. Mix in the spices into the batter

  5. Dip the cauliflower florets into the batter

  6. Optional) if you are using the breadcrumbs, place on a plate and roll the cauliflower into them after dipping in the batter

  7. Place the florets on a lined baking sheet and bake for 20 mins

  8. Meanwhile, place the buffalo sauce and bbq sauce in two separate bowls

  9. When the cauliflower is done, dip or spread it into the sauce (i normally dip in with a fork for the buffalo but spread on the bbq with a pastry brush) and spray on some cooking oil of your choice

  10. Place on a baking sheet and bake for another 20 minutes

  11. Serve hot ! (or great the next day as leftovers)
