Vegan Falfael Recipe

Ingredients

  • 400g cooked chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1 small red onion
  • 1 garlic clove
  • Handful of parsley
  • 1 tsp. Ground cumin
  • 1 tsp. Ground coriander
  • 1 tsp. Chili powder (optional)
  • 2-3 tablespoon whole wheat flour
  • Pinch of salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoon coconut oil (only needed for frying), if you decide to pan fry the falafel balls but you can also just bake them in the oven at 185°C until they're golden brown

Preparation

  1. It's quiet simple to do you just need a high speed  blender or food processor! Put all the ingredients in the blender and blend everything until fairly smooth, to enhance the consistency you might need to add a bit of water or a bit of the water from the cooked chickpeas to get a more moist consistency! Next, just shape into some falafel looking like patties with your hands! Like I said you can either bake them in the oven or pan fry them until golden brown in a non sticking pan or if you use a regular pan, put some coconut oil in the pan!
