Banana Peanut Butter Oats with Sautéed Apples

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tbsp ground flaxseed
  • 1 sliced banana or replace with 2 tsp sweetener
  • 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • Salt to taste

Apple topping

  • 1 apple
  • 2 tsp maple syrup
  • pinch of salt
  • pinch of cinnamon

Preparation

  1. Add all oat ingredients to a saucepan, stir to combine, and cook for 5 minutes until thickened.

  2. Sauté the apple topping separately if desired, then add it on top of the oats for enhanced flavor.

  3. Sautéing the apples is highly recommended as it makes the dish more luxurious and cozy.

Apple sauté

  1. Chop one apple into cubes.

  2. Place the apple cubes in a pan with 2 tsp maple syrup, a pinch of salt, and a pinch of cinnamon.

  3. Stir and sauté on low heat until the maple syrup coats the apples and they slightly soften and brown.
