Simple Cherry Compote for Breakfast Use

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cherries, destoned
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice

Preparation

  1. Place both ingredients in a pan and heat on a medium setting for around 10 minutes until the cherries have broken down.

  2. Add a little extra orange juice or water if it looks dry.

  3. Serve with lumps or blend with a stick blender into a puree for children.

Usage tips

  1. Optionally add a little maple syrup for extra sweetness.

  2. Swirl through yogurt, drizzle over pancakes, or add to smoothies.
