15-Minute Vegan Savoury French Toast

Ingredients

  • 1 cup gram flour
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp grated ginger
  • 1/4 tsp chilli powder
  • optional: a little Garam Masala or black pepper
  • handful chopped coriander
  • water
  • spray of oil
  • sliced bread

Preparation

  1. Mix all ingredients in a bowl except bread, whisk adding water until liquidy consistency

  2. Coat bread slices evenly in the batter, turning over a couple of times

  3. Cook in a heated pan for 1-2 minutes on each side

  4. Cut into triangles or soldiers

  5. Dip into any sauce you like

Tips

  1. Enjoy immediately after cooking for best taste

  2. You can add other spices, chopped veggies, or chilli for variation
