Crispy Orange Tofu Stir-Fry

Ingredients

Tofu

  • 1 block tofu – cubed
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (or sub aminos)
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp arrowroot starch or cornstarch

Sauce

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup orange juice (from 1 medium orange)
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 1/2 tbsp arrowroot powder/starch or cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp mustard

Optional extras

  • Quinoa
  • Roasted Broccoli
  • Sesame Seeds (for topping)
  • Red Pepper Flakes (for topping)

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Mix tofu with soy sauce and sesame oil in a medium to large sized bowl. Add in starch 1 tablespoon at a time and shake to fully combine.

  3. Roast tofu for 30-40 minutes on a lined sheet pan until it starts to crisp.

  4. When tofu is almost done cooking, whisk together sauce ingredients.

  5. Pour sauce into a skillet over medium heat. Bring to a simmer until sauce thickens, whisking as it heats up.

  6. Mix tofu with sauce and serve with desired sides and toppings.
