Green Tea Apple Smoothie with Spinach
Ingredients
- 1 green apple peeled and cored
- 1/2 cup freshly brewed green tea and cooled (1 bag in 1/2 cup hot water)
- 1 big handful of spinach
- 1 wedge of lemon, squeezed
- 1-3 teaspoons chia seeds or 1 scoop protein powder
- 1/2 inch ginger chopped
- 2 tablespoons yogurt (coconut)
- Big pinch of cardamom powder
- 1/2 cup chilled almond milk
- Few ice cubes or water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preparation
Add all of these ingredients into your blender and whizz until completely smooth.

Health notes
Do not add fresh greens like spinach regularly because oxalates inhibit calcium and iron absorption.
Large intake of oxalates daily can cause nutritional deficiencies, so balance raw and cooked foods.
Nutrients like vitamin C and potassium are better absorbed when consumed raw.
