Loaded Chopped Salad with Tuna

Ingredients

  • romaine lettuce
  • olive oil (a drizzle)
  • lemon juice (a drizzle)
  • canned tuna
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • salt
  • pepper
  • avocado
  • cheese (e.g., blue or feta)
  • tomatoes
  • cucumber
  • celery
  • red onion
  • chili flakes
  • everything but the bagel seasoning (optional)

Preparation

  1. Chop the romaine lettuce and toss it with a drizzle of olive oil and lemon juice.

  2. Drain the canned tuna and mix it with 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon of hot sauce, salt, and pepper.

  3. Top the lettuce with the prepared tuna mixture.

  4. Add sliced avocado to the salad.

  5. Add your choice of cheese.

  6. Add chopped tomatoes, cucumber, celery, and red onion.

  7. Season the salad with salt, pepper, chili flakes, and optionally, everything but the bagel seasoning.

Tips

  1. Consider adding your favorite ingredients like cheese, sauces, nuts, or crackers for extra flavor and texture.

  2. You can even incorporate homemade fries, as potatoes are a vegetable, to make the salad more filling.
