Sticky Tofu with Ginger, Sesame and Garlic
Ingredients
- 400 g extra firm tofu
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 thumb of ginger
- 3 tbsp maple syrup
- 2 tbsp tamari or soy sauce
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 pinch chili flakes
Preparation
Take the tofu out of its packet, drain the water and pat the tofu dry with a paper towel
Press the garlic in a garlic press and grate the ginger
In a bowl, whisk together all the ingredients for the marinade
Cut the tofu into bite sized chunks and marinate for at least 10 minutes
Heat a pan to medium/high heat and spoon in the tofu (save the marinade in the bowl) and fry for about 8-10 minutes until golden brown
Stir every now to make sure all sides get nice and caramelized
Add the remaining marinade and turn off the heat
Give it a stir and serve
