Simple Tomato Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 3-4 large cloves of garlic slightly crushed, but still left whole
  • 1, 15 ounce can of cherry or whole plum tomatoes in sauce, puréed in a food processor or crushed by hand
  • Salt to taste

Preparation

  1. In a medium pot over medium heat add olive oil and garlic

  2. Stir often until garlic is a deep golden color

  3. Then add tomatoes and salt, stir to combine

  4. Let cook for about 15-20 minutes over medium low heat, stirring periodically

  5. Remove from pot and store in a container in the refrigerator for up to a week or in the freezer for 3 months
