Chocolate and Pear Cake

Ingredients

  • 100 g butter, cubed
  • 1/2 cup raw brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
  • 1/2 cup natural yogurt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons cacao powder
  • 2 ripe pears, thinly sliced

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 180C and grease a cake tin.

  2. Place butter and sugar in the metal bowl.

  3. Run the EXPERT program for 3 minutes/speed 3/60C.

  4. If needed, scrape down the wall of the bowl.

  5. Add eggs, yogurt, flour, baking powder and cacao.

  6. Restart the program (without the heating) for 1 minute/speed 8.

  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking tin.

  8. Arrange pear slices on top of the batter.

  9. Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the centre of the cake comes out clean.

  10. Set aside to cool slightly in the pan for 10 minutes.
