Easy Homemade Fried Rice with Ground Meat

Ingredients

  • 3 cups cooked and cooled rice or another grain
  • 1 lb ground beef, chicken or turkey
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 10 oz frozen mixed veggies
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3-5 tbsp lite soy sauce or tamari
  • 1-2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • a few tbsp Honey Aleppo Sauce by Trader Joe’s (optional)

Preparation

  1. Start with 3 cups cooked and cooled rice or another grain.

  2. Heat a large skillet to medium heat and add 1 lb ground beef, chicken or turkey.

  3. Cook, breaking up with a spatula, until no pink remains, then scrape into a heatproof bowl.

  4. Add 3 cloves minced garlic and stir constantly for 30 seconds.

  5. Add 10 oz frozen mixed veggies and allow to cook until warmed through.

  6. While veggies are sautéing, whisk 3 large eggs in a bowl.

  7. Scrape veggies to one side of the pan and add eggs. Cook, stirring, until scrambled.

  8. Add meat back to pan, along with 3-5 tbsp lite soy sauce or tamari and 1-2 tbsp toasted sesame oil.

  9. Stir to incorporate, then carefully fold in cooked rice.

  10. Optionally, add a few tbsp of Honey Aleppo Sauce by Trader Joe’s.

  11. Enjoy!
