Sticky Ginger and Garlic Tofu

Ingredients

  • 14 oz firm tofu

Ginger garlic sauce

  • 3 tbsp maple syrup
  • 3 tbsp tamari
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, grated or minced
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp water

Preparation

  1. Press tofu to remove excess water

  2. Cut tofu into cubes

  3. Heat oil in a pan and fry tofu until golden and crispy

  4. In a separate saucepan, combine all sauce ingredients except cornstarch and water, and bring to a simmer

  5. Mix cornstarch with water to make a slurry, then add to the sauce and stir until thickened

  6. Add fried tofu to the sauce and toss to coat evenly
