Black Sesame and Vanilla Protein Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 50g Porridge Oats
  • 35g Vanilla Vegan Protein Powder
  • 200ml Unsweetened Almond Milk
  • 10g Almond Butter
  • 75g Banana
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon Syrup or 1-2 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp Black Sesame Seeds

Preparation

  1. Soak the porridge oats in cold water for 3-4 hours or overnight.

  2. In a non-stick frying pan, toast the black sesame seeds on medium heat until they give off an aroma and pop slightly, stirring to avoid burning.

  3. Let the sesame seeds cool, then blend them.

  4. In a blender, add the soaked oats, blended sesame seeds, cinnamon syrup or powder, almond butter, banana, almond milk, and protein powder, then blend until smooth.

  5. Pour the smoothie into a glass and add more almond milk or cold water if a runnier consistency is preferred.

  6. Optionally, top with caramelized banana coins and additional toasted black sesame seeds.

Topping

  1. Slice additional banana into coins and cook in a pan with cinnamon syrup until caramelized and golden.
