Sourdough Pizza Crust

Ingredients

  • 120g discarded sourdough starter
  • 200g strong bread flour
  • 90g warm water

Preparation

  1. Mix all of the ingredients together and knead for a few minutes. My mixture was still a bit sticky but keep adding flour until it is easier for you to handle

  2. Flour the base and sides of a bowl and place the sourdough mixture in. Don’t worry if it’s still sticky. Cover with a towel and leave to prove until doubled in size. I left mine in a cooling down oven for about four hours

  3. Pour some flour into a baking tray and spread out until the baking tray is covered

  4. Tip the dough onto the baking tray and sprinkle some flour on top of the dough. Press the dough into your desired shape. My dough was still rather sticky and my hands were covered in dough residue but don’t worry if yours is like mine

  5. Leave to prove for another 30-45 mins

  6. Top with sauce, cheese and your toppings

  7. Place in the oven until the base is crispy. I think this took about 20-25 minutes for mine to cook properly
