Easy Rustic Crusty Bread

Ingredients

  • 6 cups flour (all purpose or gluten free)
  • 1 packet instant dry yeast
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 3 cups warm water

Preparation

  1. Mix the flour, yeast, and salt in a large bowl.

  2. Add warm water and stir until a shaggy dough forms.

  3. Cover the bowl and let the dough rise at room temperature for 12-18 hours.

  4. Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C) with a Dutch oven inside.

  5. Carefully transfer the dough to the hot Dutch oven and bake for 30 minutes covered.

  6. Remove the cover and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until crusty and golden.
