Crispy Cauliflower Nuggets with Spices

Ingredients

  • 1 head cauliflower
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup coconut flour
  • 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • Sprinkle of salt and pepper

Preparation

  1. Cut the cauliflower into small, bite-sized pieces, aiming for uniform sizes.

  2. Brush each cauliflower piece with olive oil, ensuring they are well coated.

  3. In a bowl, combine the coconut flour, nutritional yeast, garlic powder, chili powder, smoked paprika, turmeric, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Mix the dry ingredients together.

  4. Dip each cauliflower piece into the flour mixture, making sure it's fully coated. Shake off any excess flour.

  5. Place the coated cauliflower pieces on a baking pan lined with parchment paper.

  6. Repeat the coating process for each piece of cauliflower, working in batches if needed.

  7. Bake the cauliflower nuggets in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 25-30 minutes, until they turn golden brown and crispy. You can flip them halfway through the baking time, although it's optional.

  8. Once they're cooked to your desired level of crispiness, remove the nuggets from the oven and let them cool slightly.

  9. Serve the crispy cauliflower nuggets as a delightful meatless option, paired with your favorite sides like French fries.
