Easy Homemade Vegan Cheese Recipes

Ingredients

Smoky Cheddar Cheese

  • 1/2 cup (55g) cashews
  • 3 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp Agar powder
  • 1 tbsp corn starch
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 cups (375ml) water

Herb Cheese

  • 1/2 cup (60g) cashews, soaked
  • 1 tsp basil
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp corn starch
  • 1/2 garlic clove, minced
  • 3 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup (125ml) water
  • 1 1/2 tsp Agar powder

Preparation

Smoky Cheddar Cheese

  1. Blend all the ingredients in a high-power blender until smooth.

  2. Transfer the mixture to a pot and bring it to a boil.

  3. Brush a ramekin with oil and pour in the cheese mixture.

  4. Let it sit in the fridge for 1 hour before serving.

Herb Cheese

  1. In a pot, add Agar powder and half of the water, then bring it to a boil.

  2. In a high-power blender, combine the remaining ingredients and blend until smooth.

  3. Add the blended mixture to the Agar mixture in the pot and stir until combined.

  4. Brush a ramekin with oil and pour in the cheese mixture.

  5. Let it sit in the fridge for 1 hour before serving.
