Spicy Tofu and Broccoli Stir Fry
Ingredients
- 14 oz firm tofu
- 4 cups broccoli florets
Teriyaki sauce
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
- 1-3 teaspoons honey
- 1 teaspoon minced ginger
- 1 small garlic clove, minced
- 2 tablespoons arrowroot powder (for slurry)
- 1/4 cup water (for slurry)
Toppings
- sesame seeds
- scallions
- red pepper flakes
Preparation
Broccoli
Lightly roast the broccoli at low heat until it has extra flavor and the right crunch.
Teriyaki sauce
Heat up all ingredients except the arrowroot slurry over medium high heat until simmering.
Add the arrowroot slurry (whisk 2 tablespoons arrowroot powder with 1/4 cup water) and stir until the sauce thickens, then remove from heat.
Stir fry assembly
Cube the tofu and stir-fry it in a pan until golden brown.
Combine the stir-fried tofu, roasted broccoli, and teriyaki sauce in a pan and cook together briefly.
Top the stir fry with sesame seeds, scallions, and red pepper flakes.
