Vegan Snickers-Inspired Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • 150g apple sauce
  • 300g vegan margarine
  • 200g (coconut) sugar
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 package vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 400g flour (I used spelt flour)
  • 100g cacao powder
  • ~250-300ml plant milk (I used soy milk)
  • 100g melted dark chocolate
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder

Toppings

  • crunchy peanut butter
  • vegan whipped cream (200ml) & 1 package cream stiffener
  • date syrup or coconut syrup
  • dark chocolate

Preparation

  1. Mix the apple sauce, vinegar, sugars and chocolate.

  2. Make sure everything (except the melted chocolate) has room temperature.

  3. In a separate bowl mix flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda.

  4. Add the flour mix to the other ingredients step by step.

  5. Add milk when the dough is too sticky.

  6. Spread on a baking sheet prepared with paper or pour into equal, round baking forms.

  7. Bake for approximately 10-20 minutes.

  8. Let cool down and cut out circles if you used a baking sheet.

Assembly

  1. Whip vegan cream with cream stiffener.

  2. Build the cake with the crunchy peanut butter, date syrup and cream.
