Spicy Steamed Vegan Dumplings
Ingredients
- 2 lbs bok choy, washed and julienned
- 1 package wonton or dumpling wrappers
- 1 box firm tofu, drained and mashed
- 1/4 cup sautéed mushrooms
- 1 tablespoon black bean sauce
- 1 tablespoon corn starch
- Salt to taste
- Oil
Spicy sauce
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons chili oil with chili crumbs
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon Chinese black vinegar
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon sugar
Preparation
Mix bok choy, mashed tofu, sautéed mushrooms, black bean sauce, corn starch, salt, and oil to form the filling
Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each dumpling wrapper
Fold and seal the wrappers to form dumplings
Steam the dumplings for 10 to 15 minutes until cooked through
Sauce
Whisk all ingredients in a bowl until sugar dissolves
