Stovetop Cinnamon Apple Oatmeal

Ingredients

  • 1 cup old fashioned rolled oats (gluten-free if preferred)
  • 1 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 apples
  • 1 tsp coconut oil

Preparation

  1. Heat up the milk and oats together until they start bubbling.

  2. Add in the maple syrup, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir together and let it cook for 8-10 minutes until it thickens.

  3. For the sautéed apples, dice your apples.

  4. Heat a skillet over low-medium heat and add the coconut oil.

  5. Add the diced apples and cinnamon to the skillet. Sauté until they're soft, about 5-6 minutes.

  6. Serve the sautéed apples over the cooked oatmeal.

  7. Optional: Add a dollop of peanut butter on top.
