Stovetop Cinnamon Apple Oatmeal
Ingredients
- 1 cup old fashioned rolled oats (gluten-free if preferred)
- 1 1/2 cup almond milk
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 2 apples
- 1 tsp coconut oil
Preparation
Heat up the milk and oats together until they start bubbling.
Add in the maple syrup, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir together and let it cook for 8-10 minutes until it thickens.
For the sautéed apples, dice your apples.
Heat a skillet over low-medium heat and add the coconut oil.
Add the diced apples and cinnamon to the skillet. Sauté until they're soft, about 5-6 minutes.
Serve the sautéed apples over the cooked oatmeal.
Optional: Add a dollop of peanut butter on top.
