Peanut Butter and Hazelnut Chocolate Banana Toast

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed (around 280 g)
  • 2 eggs, medium
  • 150 g brown sugar
  • 150 g applesauce
  • 270 g all-purpose flour
  • 20 g cacao powder
  • 10 g baking powder

Toppings

  • peanut butter or other nut butter
  • hazelnuts or other nuts

Preparation

Banana bread

  1. In a large bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar.

  2. Add the applesauce to the egg mixture and combine it well.

  3. Next, add the pre-sieved flour, the baking powder and cacao, and mix it thoroughly.

  4. Add the mashed bananas into the bowl.

  5. Preheat your oven to 180°C.

  6. Line your banana bread pan with some parchment paper.

  7. Pour the mixture in and spread it evenly across the pan.

  8. Bake for 50 minutes to 1 hour, until it's fully cooked.

  9. Bring it out of the oven and set it on a rack to cool down.

Toast

  1. You can toast the banana bread or have it as it is.

  2. Spread some of that delicious peanut butter and add some crushed hazelnuts on top.
