Vegan Donuts
Ingredients
- 2 sachets instant yeast
- 2 vegan egg replacements
- 5 cups all purpose white flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup dairy free baking marg/ vegan butter (well softened)
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups non dairy mylk
- oil to fry
Preparation
Mix the water and yeast
Add the sugar, egg replacements, 1 cup flour, sugar, vegan butter and salt
Mix well and add the flour in a cup at a time until it doesn’t stick to the sides of the bowl
Knead for 5-10 or so minutes
Rest in a warm place until doubled
Roll out the dough until still somewhat thick and cut out into the desired shape
Place onto well greased cut outs of baking paper
Rest in a warm place until puffy - not too long, not too warm!
Drop each individually into hot oil - it should not brown too quickly
Keep a close eye on them and cook for 1 min on each side until sufficiently golden
Place on paper towel until drained of excess oil and cooled
