Vegan Donuts

Ingredients

  • 2 sachets instant yeast
  • 2 vegan egg replacements
  • 5 cups all purpose white flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup dairy free baking marg/ vegan butter (well softened)
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups non dairy mylk
  • oil to fry

Preparation

  1. Mix the water and yeast

  2. Add the sugar, egg replacements, 1 cup flour, sugar, vegan butter and salt

  3. Mix well and add the flour in a cup at a time until it doesn’t stick to the sides of the bowl

  4. Knead for 5-10 or so minutes

  5. Rest in a warm place until doubled

  6. Roll out the dough until still somewhat thick and cut out into the desired shape

  7. Place onto well greased cut outs of baking paper

  8. Rest in a warm place until puffy - not too long, not too warm!

  9. Drop each individually into hot oil - it should not brown too quickly

  10. Keep a close eye on them and cook for 1 min on each side until sufficiently golden

  11. Place on paper towel until drained of excess oil and cooled
