Vegan Marble Cake

Ingredients

  • 320g all purpose flour
  • 20g starch
  • 185g date sugar
  • 15g baking powder
  • 300g vanilla soy milk
  • 145g coconut oil
  • 10g lemon juice (or squeeze half a fresh lemon)
  • 20g cacao powder

Preparation

  1. In a bowl mix together the flour, sugar, starch and baking powder

  2. Whisk it all together

  3. Next, add the milk to it as well as the oil and lemon juice

  4. Give it a good whisk again until everyting is well combined

  5. Do not whisk for too long

  6. Next, you need to use a cake mould and grease it with a bit of vegan butter to avoid sticking to the mould

  7. Add 3/4 of the cake batter to the mould

  8. Now, add the cacao powder to the left over 1/4 of the cake batter

  9. Mix together and add it on top of the other cake batter in the mould

  10. To obtain the marble cake shape, use a fork and stir the batter from the bottom to the top in order to create a wave like shape while using the fork

  11. Now, just place the cake in the oven at 180C° for 30-35 minutes until done (toothpick test)
