Buffalo Chickpea Burgers

Ingredients

  • 1 15 ounce can of chickpeas (rinsed and drained, patted dry and peeled the skin)
  • 1/2 finely diced onion
  • 1 small zucchini finely grated and patted dry
  • 1/2 cup oats ( use gluten free to keep the recipe gf)
  • 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 2 tsp garlic
  • 1/2- 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp hot sauce

Preparation

  1. Rinse, pat dry, and peel the skins off the chickpeas

  2. To rub the skins off the chickpeas, place between a cloth and run it back and forth

  3. Most of them will naturally come for! it doesn’t have to be perfect but it helps with the texture

  4. Add the chickpeas to a food processor, pulse, then remove and add to a bowl

  5. Add oats to a food processor, pulse, then add to the bowl

  6. Add all of the other ingredients to the bowl and mix together with a spatula

  7. Then press into a dough

  8. Form 6 patties

  9. Heat a skillet over medium heat

  10. Add olive oil or avocado oil

  11. Cook the patties for 5 minutes, flip, and cook 5 more minutes until both sides are crispy
