Buffalo Chickpea Burgers
Ingredients
- 1 15 ounce can of chickpeas (rinsed and drained, patted dry and peeled the skin)
- 1/2 finely diced onion
- 1 small zucchini finely grated and patted dry
- 1/2 cup oats ( use gluten free to keep the recipe gf)
- 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 2 tsp garlic
- 1/2- 1 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp hot sauce
Preparation
Rinse, pat dry, and peel the skins off the chickpeas
To rub the skins off the chickpeas, place between a cloth and run it back and forth
Most of them will naturally come for! it doesn’t have to be perfect but it helps with the texture
Add the chickpeas to a food processor, pulse, then remove and add to a bowl
Add oats to a food processor, pulse, then add to the bowl
Add all of the other ingredients to the bowl and mix together with a spatula
Then press into a dough
Form 6 patties
Heat a skillet over medium heat
Add olive oil or avocado oil
Cook the patties for 5 minutes, flip, and cook 5 more minutes until both sides are crispy
