Creamy Za’atar Alfredo

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp za’atar spice blend⁣
  • 2 tbsp nutritional yeast flakes⁣
  • 1 garlic clove, minced⁣
  • 1 yellow onion, finely chopped⁣
  • 1 tbsp vegan butter⁣
  • salt & pepper to taste⁣
  • garnish:⁣
  • vegan parmesan cheese, grated⁣
  • fresh thyme⁣
  • method:⁣
  • cook spaghetti in accordance with package instructions.⁣
  • add the remaining ingredients to the pan, stir to combine and let simmer 1-2 minutes until the sauce is thick and creamy.⁣
  • drain spaghetti (save some of the cooking water), and combine with the sauce. if the sauce is too thick, add a little bit of the cooking water, 1 tbsp at a time.⁣

Preparation

  1. Heat butter in a pan and sauté garlic and onion on medium heat

  2. Add the remaining ingredients to the pan, stir to combine and let simmer 1-2 minutes until the sauce is thick and creamy

  3. Drain spaghetti (save some of the cooking water), and combine with the sauce

  4. If the sauce is too thick, add a little bit of the cooking water, 1 tbsp at a time

  5. Top with grated vegan parmesan and fresh thyme, ready to serve!⁣
