Creamy Za’atar Alfredo
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp za’atar spice blend
- 2 tbsp nutritional yeast flakes
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 yellow onion, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp vegan butter
- salt & pepper to taste
- garnish:
- vegan parmesan cheese, grated
- fresh thyme
- method:
- cook spaghetti in accordance with package instructions.
- add the remaining ingredients to the pan, stir to combine and let simmer 1-2 minutes until the sauce is thick and creamy.
- drain spaghetti (save some of the cooking water), and combine with the sauce. if the sauce is too thick, add a little bit of the cooking water, 1 tbsp at a time.
Preparation
Heat butter in a pan and sauté garlic and onion on medium heat
Add the remaining ingredients to the pan, stir to combine and let simmer 1-2 minutes until the sauce is thick and creamy
Drain spaghetti (save some of the cooking water), and combine with the sauce
If the sauce is too thick, add a little bit of the cooking water, 1 tbsp at a time
Top with grated vegan parmesan and fresh thyme, ready to serve!
