Quick Pressure Cooker Paneer Butter Masala
Ingredients
- 2 medium-sized cut onions
- 5-6 cut tomatoes
- 3-4 garlic cloves
- 2 dried red chillies
- 1 small ginger knob, chopped
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/4 cup cashews
- 1 tbsp melon seeds
- Salt, to taste
- 2 tsp + 1 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tsp oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 2 tsp coriander & cumin seeds powder
- 1 tsp garam masala (or Kitchen King masala)
- Kasuri methi
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp sugar (or honey)
- 350 gm paneer, cubed
- Slit green chillies & chopped coriander
- 2 tbsp fresh cream (optional)
Preparation
In a pressure cooker, combine 2 medium onions, 5-6 cut tomatoes, 3-4 garlic cloves, 2 dried red chillies, a small ginger, 1/2 tsp cumin seeds, 1/4 cup cashews, 1 tbsp melon seeds, salt, 2 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder, and 1/2 cup water, then pressure cook for 2 whistles and churn until smooth.
Heat 2 tsp oil and 1 tbsp butter in a pan, add 1 tsp Kashmiri Red Chili Powder, 2 tsp coriander and cumin seeds powder, 1 tsp Garam Masala and some Kasuri Methi and the gravy mixture, then cover the lid and cook for 5 minutes, add 1/4 cup milk if the gravy is too thick and add 1 tsp sugar and salt as per taste.
Add 350 gm paneer cubes and cook for another 2-3 minutes, then finish with slit green chillies, chopped coriander, and after turning off heat, add 2 tbsp fresh cream.
Tips
This recipe can be prepared in under 15 minutes using a pressure cooker for a restaurant-style dish.
