1) If frozen soak the meat free mince for 5mins then drain, rinse and squeeze out any water (this makes the mince more firm and beef like?) -
2) lightly fry the mince in 1tbsp of olive oil for 2-3mins
3) add one diced onion and cook for 2-3mins -
4) Then stir in a dry chilli mix seasoning and add 1 tin of chopped tomatoes -
5) then add a can of kidney beans (in chilli sauce ideally) and a can of black beans (rinse and drain first) -
6) add a splash of water if it’s too thick and season with salt and pepper then let simmer for 15mins! Done
Recipe for the mash
1) peel and boil some potatoes until soft then mash them with a masher (add some plant based butter and a splash of plant based milk to make it nice and creamy mate - and a tbsp of nutritional yeast for a cheesy sensation
