Superfast Pitta Bread Pizzas

Ingredients

  • 5 - 8 pitta breads
  • 1/3 can chopped tomatoes (or use passata to avoid blending)
  • 1/3 tsp garlic powder salt to your taste (I used 1/2 tsp and found it a tad on the salty side after adding the cheese)
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/3 tsp oregano (use sparingly as this is quite strong)
  • grated cheese (as required)

Preparation

  1. Place 1/3 can of chopped tomatoes in a blender/food processor and add 1/3 tsp garlic powder.

  2. Add salt to taste.

  3. Add salt to taste.

  4. Add 1/3 tsp oregano.

  5. Blend till smooth.

  6. Place a dollop of tomato sauce on each pitta bread.

  7. Spread sauce evenly using a spatula.

  8. Sprinkle cheese on top.

  9. Grill for 5 - 7 minutes to melt cheese, I don't recommend baking in the oven as the pitta breads become hard and don't taste very nice. Enjoy your Pizzas with a side of your choice.
