Sweet and Sticky Crispy Beef
Ingredients
- beef strips
- cornflour
- oil
- white onion
- ginger and garlic paste
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- sriracha sauce
- 1/2 tablespoon rice vinegar
- ketchup
- sesame seeds
- chilli flakes
- fresh coriander
- spring onions
- cooked rice
- tenderstem broccoli
- lime wedge
Preparation
Coat beef strips in cornflour and cook in air fryer with a bit of oil until crispy, or alternatively in a pan.
While the beef is cooking, fry a white onion in a pan.
Add ginger and garlic paste to the onion and fry for a few minutes.
Add 2 tablespoons honey, 3 tablespoons soy sauce, 3 tablespoons water, 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce, a drizzle of sriracha sauce, 1/2 tablespoon rice vinegar, a dollop of ketchup, and a cornstarch slurry (made with cornflour and water) to thicken the sauce.
Once the beef is cooked, toss it in the sticky sauce mixture.
Top with sesame seeds, chilli flakes, fresh coriander, and spring onions.
Serve with cooked rice, tenderstem broccoli roasted in the oven with salt, and a lime wedge.
