Aloo Paratha with Spiced Potato Filling
Ingredients
Stuffing
- 4 boiled and mashed potatoes
- 1 tablespoon coriander
- 1 teaspoon ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon green chili paste, or to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon chaat masala
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon oil
Dough
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- Water as needed
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon oil (optional)
Preparation
Stuffing
Mash the potatoes.
In a non-stick pan, heat 1 teaspoon oil.
Add ginger paste, garlic paste, and green chili paste; fry for 2 seconds.
Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and chaat masala; mix well.
Add the mashed potatoes, coriander, and salt; fry for 2-3 minutes.
Set aside to cool for 30-40 minutes.
Paratha assembly
Prepare the dough by mixing whole wheat flour, salt, and water to form a soft dough; knead well and let rest for 15 minutes.
Divide the dough and stuffing into equal portions.
Roll a dough ball into a small circle, place a portion of stuffing in the center, seal the edges, and roll into a paratha.
Heat a tawa or griddle, cook the paratha on both sides with oil until golden brown.
