Vegan Fried Chicken

Ingredients

  • 2 flax eggs;
  • 1 cup gluten free flour;
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder;
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt;
  • juice of one small lemon;
  • 5 tbsp hot sauce of your choice;
  • 2 cups sparkling water;
  • mix all the ingredients together;
  • 2 cups gluten free flour;
  • 1/2 cup chickpea crumbs ( or any gluten free breadcrumbs);
  • 1 tsp baking powder;
  • 2 tbsp dry herbs of your choice;
  • 1 tsp sea salt;
  • 1 tsp cayenne;
  • 1 tbsp grounded pepper;
  • 1 tbsp onion powder;

Preparation

  1. Mix everything together

  2. Tear your tofu into pieces of your desired size

  3. Dip your tofu into the batter and then into the flour coating mix

  4. Bake or use the air fryer slightly greased with avocado oil until they are golden and crispy

  5. Enjoy with your sweet potato wedges and avocado mayo
