Baked Bbq Cauliflower Wings
Ingredients
- 1 medium head cauliflower (about 5–6 cups chopped)
- 3/4 cup non-dairy milk
- 1 cup flour (I used rice flour, but all purpose works too)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 12 ounces (1 1/2 cups) barbecue sauce
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
Chop the cauliflower into medium-sized florets.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the salt, onion powder, garlic powder, flour, and milk and adjust batter thickness if needed by adding 1-2 tablespoons of milk.
Add the cauliflower to the batter and carefully mix to coat each piece.
Toss in the breadcrumbs.
Add the cauliflower to a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 25 minutes, then turn the oven off and let it sit for an additional 5 minutes to crisp up.
Remove from the oven and let cool for 5-10 minutes.
Add the cauliflower to a bowl and coat with the BBQ sauce, using as much sauce as desired, then serve immediately.
Notes
This recipe does not store well in the fridge due to the nature of baked cauliflower and is best served fresh.
The recipe can be adapted for an air fryer by following the same directions and adding the sauce after cooking.
