Baked Cauliflower Wings with Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 small head cauliflower
  • 1 teaspoon avocado oil

Batter

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons rice flour
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • white pepper to taste

Sauce

  • 2.5 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon tamari or soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon vegan Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1-2 tablespoons water
  • hot sauce to taste (optional)

Preparation

  1. Mix all batter ingredients in a bowl and set aside.

  2. Preheat oven to 495°F.

  3. Cut a small head of cauliflower into florets and coat them well with the batter mixture.

  4. Lay them on a non-stick baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes.

  5. Remove from oven, brush some oil on the cauliflower, flip, and bake for another 5 minutes to give a roasted look.

  6. Mix all sauce ingredients and set aside.

  7. In a heated pan with 1 teaspoon avocado oil, pour the sauce in slowly as it may splash, add the cauliflower florets, and coat them until well combined.

  8. Serve immediately.
